The Mid Maine Generator Difference
Mid Maine Generator started in 1991, when Steve Kaplan took over a local electrical contractor and incorporated it as Kaplan Electric. Around 2010 we became one of the first companies in Maine to focus on standby generators, and today we install and service generators exclusively.
Chris Moulton joined in 2008 as an electrician, helped build the generator service department, and now serves as President. In 2024 the company became 100% employee-owned, so the people who install and service your generator have a direct stake in doing it right.
We are the largest Kohler dealer in the Northeast and a Titanium Bold Certified dealer, which lets our Kohler-certified technicians back your system with the 5-year, 2,000-hour Kohler protection warranty. From four locations in Winthrop, Wiscasset, Rockland, and Bridgton, our master electricians and licensed propane technicians handle the whole installation turnkey, usually in a single day.
