Generator Installation and Service in Camden, Maine

Camden sits where the hills come down to Penobscot Bay, and that setting creates two specific problems for backup power: salt air that is hard on outdoor equipment, and a lot of houses that sit empty for part of the year. Mid Maine Generator covers Camden from our Warren office, about twenty minutes away on Route 90.

Salt Air and Generator Enclosures

Coastal Maine is rough on anything left outdoors. Steel and aluminum enclosures chalk, pit, and eventually rust through within sight of the bay. Every Kohler home standby generator we install uses a corrosion-proof composite enclosure that does not corrode the way metal does, and that is a large part of why we install Kohler exclusively along this stretch of coast. The generator you put in this year should still look and run right in fifteen.

Backup Power for Seasonal and Second Homes

A good number of Camden houses are lived in only part of the year. A February outage at an empty house is not an inconvenience, it is frozen pipes and a very expensive spring. A standby generator starts on its own and keeps the heat and the well pump running whether anyone is there or not.

On units equipped for it, Kohler's OnCue Generator Management System lets you check the generator from your phone wherever you happen to be, and sends you a text or email if something is wrong. Our service team can see the same fault codes and battery alerts, which often means we know about a problem before you do.

Working on Camden's Older Homes

Camden has a lot of nineteenth-century houses, and those houses tend to come with complicated electrical services, tight lot lines, and neighbors close enough to care about noise. Kohler's current 14kW and 20kW units run quieter than the models they replaced, and we spend real time on placement so the generator meets its code clearances without ending up under somebody's bedroom window.

Serving Camden, Rockport, and the Midcoast

From the Warren office we cover Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Lincolnville, Hope, Union, Warren, and Thomaston. Storm season on the coast is busy, so we run multiple service trucks in this area to keep response times short when the wind comes up.
