Generator Installation and Service in Lewiston, Maine

Lewiston is Maine's second largest city, and its housing runs from downtown blocks of mill-era multifamily buildings to newer subdivisions out toward the edges of town. Backup power looks different in each of those, which is why Mid Maine Generator quotes every Lewiston job from an actual site visit rather than over the phone. We cover the city from our Winthrop office, about half an hour up the road.

Two Very Different Electrical Situations

In the older parts of the city, close to the Androscoggin and the former textile mills, houses often sit tight to their neighbours with panels that have been extended over many decades. Placement, clearances, and noise all matter more there. Out toward the newer developments the service is modern and the lot has room, and the install is straightforward. Both are routine work for us, but they are not the same job and they should not get the same quote.

What a Standby Generator Covers

A Kohler home standby unit sits outside like an air conditioner and starts on its own within about ten seconds of losing utility power, whether you are home or not. It runs on propane or natural gas, so there is no fuel to carry and no cords to run in the dark, and it picks up your heat, your refrigerator, your sump pump, and the rest of what you told us to cover.

Serving Lewiston and the Androscoggin Valley

We also work throughout Auburn, Sabattus, Greene, Lisbon, Turner, and Monmouth. The Lewiston-Auburn area is close enough to our Winthrop headquarters that both quoting and service run on a short schedule.

Financing and What It Costs

Price depends on the size of the unit, the distance from your panel to where the generator can sit, and how much gas work the job needs, so any single number published on a website would be misleading. What we can tell you is that the quote you get at the kitchen table is the price. We do not revise it upward afterwards. We also work with Service Finance, so the cost can be spread out rather than paid in one go, and we will show you those options alongside the quote during the site visit rather than making you ask.
